About the Library

Donations

Babson College’s Horn Library is pleased to accept gifts from patrons. Gifts are gratefully and willingly accepted as long as no restriction is placed upon their use. Acceptance of gifts (of books and other library materials) will be determined on the basis of their compatibility with the library’s purposes and needs in accordance with the library’s materials selection policy. Items especially valued are those by authors with a Babson affiliation, books and journals that fill gaps in the library’s collection, and material that supports curricula or faculty research.

Use or disposal of all gift materials will be determined by the library director or designated agent. The library has the right to discard any gifts in poor physical condition (e.g. items marked by highlighter, water or mildew damage, torn and/or missing pages).  The library also will not accept instructor review copies of textbooks, workbooks, case studies, or photocopies. Donated items that will not be incorporated will be discarded or given to another library.

Gift values are the responsibility of the donor and will not be appraised for income tax purposes.
