Candid, the parent company of Guidestar, the Library's database of non-profit organizations, has an ebook and audiobook collection available through Overdrive. It covers a range of topics related to non-profit management, including fundraising, advocacy, accounting, philanthropy, innovation, grant-writing, DEI, and more. To access Candid's collection, follow the instructions below (see screenshots below for key steps):
Step 1: Set up an account with Candid to obtain a User ID.
- Go to candid.overdrive.com.
- Click on the “Sign In” button near the top right of the page.
- Click on “User ID help” to register for a User ID (this will open a new window).
- Fill out the red required fields on the registration form: Name, city, state, phone number, and Babson email address.
- After submitting your form, you will receive an email to verify your account.
- After you verify your account, you will receive a User ID.
- Use this User ID to log in to candid.overdrive.com to access the Candid collection on desktop. For mobile access via the Libby app, continue to Step 2.
Step 2: Add Candid as a library in the Libby app (for more details on adding libraries/library networks in Libby, view the Tips & Help section of the library's OverDrive guide).
- Tap on the main "Menu" icon (the three horizontal lines or "hamburger" icon).
- Tap "Add library" and search for "Candid."
- Tap on "Candid" and enter the User ID number your were assigned in Step 1.
