    Getting Started

So, you have a great idea for research. Now what do you do? The Library is a great place to start.

    1. Begin your research by analyzing your topic.
    2. Read quickly through the available secondary sources (books, journal articles, etc.) that are relevant to your topic. Formulate a question that will drive your research.
    3. Next go back to your secondary sources. Review the footnotes/endnotes and bibliography. Are there additional sources listed that will help you with your research?
    4. Do these sources contain references to primary sources (i.e., original documents, photographs, etc.) that may be relevant?
    5. Do any of these secondary sources lead to more information on your topic, developing the original idea further?
    6. Can any of your primary sources be found through Library?
    7. Need help? Make an appointment (research@babson.edu) with a Librarian in Room 110 of Horn Library. Bring with you your question, secondary sources that directed you to primary sources, and your ideas about how you want to approach your topic.

    What's a LibGuide

    ("library" + "guide")?

It is Horn Library's way of helping students find their way around the many excellent resources Babson has to offer, both in print and online.
