An introduction to Creative Commons

To place Creative Commons and Copyright in context, consider the U.S. Constitution copyright statement which is the basis of copyright law: "To promote the Progress of Science and useful Arts by securing for limited Times to Authors and Inventors the exclusive Right to their respective Writings and Discoveries." Creative Commons is needed today because of changes in the (1) law - extending the length of copyright and (2) technology - with the changes of what is easy to do.
