May I copy something I found on the Internet?

If there is no statement that the web page may be used freely, you must obtain permission from the copyright holders.Current copyright law does not require a notice of copyright on a document for it to be copyrighted. Just because something is on the internet and easy to use does not mean that it is free to use as a download!

What is deep linking?

Deep linking to pages several levels deep within a site may lose the context of the page and raise the objections of a site owner. These are at the very least courtesy situations and may be considered contributory infringement. In losing context, you may obscure attribution. It is best to link to the pages that are higher up in the hierarchy to preserve the context.
