Requesting Items Basics

Step 1: Double Check
Before requesting an item through ILL, have you checked to see if it's available in the WEBnet consortium or in one of Horn Library's databases? If not, please check...you might save yourself some valuable time.

Step 2: Place a Request
Log in to ILL and choose a request type under New Request:

  • Article
  • Book
  • Book Chapter
  • Dissertation
  • ERIC Document
  • Other (free text)

Step 3: Fill out the Form

Please fill out the form with as much detail as possible. The more information you provide, the faster we can get the item for you!

You will be notified by email when your item arrives. Approximate wait times:

  • Articles: 2 (or more) days;
  • Books: 1-2 weeks.

Step 4: Pick up your Item
