General Accessibility

Horn Library is dedicated to providing access and services to all members of the Babson Community.

The library is wheelchair accessible from the front entrance.

 

Elevators

All floors of the library are accessible via elevator.

 

Photocopying

For patrons unable to use the copier, materials may be brought to the Information Desk for photocopying by library staff.

 

Restrooms

Rest rooms on all floors can accommodate patrons with disabilities.

 
 

Adaptive Technologies

Horn Library Study Room 211 offers a number of adaptive technologies designed to assist users in accessing and utilizing academic content.

  • Kurzweil 3000
    Enables conversion of print to electronic text, which can be read to the user. The program also offers a variety of study skills tools to make learning easy.
  • Dragon Naturally Speaking 9.0
    Allows users to dictate and edit documents and emails using voice technology. Works with many Windows programs including Word, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.
  • Inspiration
    A tool used to visualize, think, organize and learn.
  • Assistive Listening Devices
    Can be used with our without hearing aids to overcome the negative effects of distance, background noise, or poor acoustics.
  • Microsoft Accessibility Features

Book Retrieval Service

Many of the library’s stacks are not wheelchair accessible. Staff members at the Information Desk are available to demonstrate how to “browse the stacks” using the online catalog and to retrieve books from the stacks when needed.

 

Parking

There are parking spaces marked for handicapped use next to the library in the Babson Hall Lot.
